Public lecture „Das Wechselspiel der kosmischen Strahlung – neue Forschung im Ruhrgebiet“

21.09.2022

We are pleased to invite you to the public lecture “Das Wechselspiel der kosmischen Strahlung – neue Forschung im Ruhrgebiet" (in German).

Our CRC spokesperson Julia Tjus will take the audience on a journey to some of the most exotic objects in the cosmos, while also introducing our new research collaboration CRC1491.

This lecture builds a bridge between the tiny world of particles and the majestic expanse of galaxies. You will discover how the interplay of powerful astronomical instruments and the fundamental theory of matter allows us to unlock new secrets of the universe.

Support for Ukrainian master students in physics

04.03.2022

The Ruhr Astroparticle and Plasma Physics Center (RAPP Center) offers financial support to Ukrainian students with a Bachelor degree in Physics to continue their studies at the Ruhr University Bochum , TU Dortmund University , or Bergische Universität Wuppertal, meant to cover housing and living costs. This financial support can be granted for a maximum duration of two years, with the aim to perform the one year master studies (if not already taken somewhere else) and a one year master’s thesis in one of the research areas of the RAPP Center. This offer is limited to students who have studied in the Ukraine at the beginning of the war, and who have already received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Applications can be handed in via email to Prof. Dr. Julia Tjus, director of the RAPP Center (julia.tjus@rub.de). Please send a short application letter and attach if possible your Bachelor of Science Degree and transcript of records from your current university. If you have a preference for one of the three universities, please indicate this in your application as well. Find more information at RAPP Center.
