Due to the recent changes in X’s structure and function as well as its method of communication, SFB1491 no longer perceives X as a suitable platform to convey our information appropriately.
We are therefore following the example of Ruhr University Bochum, terminating our communication over X for the time being.
You will find all the latest news and insights of SFB1491 on our Instagram and LinkedIn channels.

In June 2024, we had the great opportunity to be part of the IdeenExpo in Hanover. The IdeenExpo is Europe‘s largest youth event for technology and natural sciences!
IdeenExpo aims to inspire young minds in the STEM fields and foster future experts.
We had the chance to support the ESERO (European Space Education Office) exhibition stand, thanks to our PIs Susanne Hüttemeister, Ralf-Jürgen Dettmar and Dominik Bomans, who are also ESERO partners.
In collaboration with ESERO, a lot of activities for school kids took place, like workshops, experiments, e.g. with our Kelvin-Helmholtz tube, chats and discussions.
With all that, we had the chance to reach out to thousands of kids - aiming to spark curiosity and love for science.
The IdeenExpo will take place again in 2026 and we are already looking forward to that!

From 10 to 13 Jun, our CRC came together in Bochum for its annual General Assembly!
This was an excellent opportunity for our community to exchange new ideas, strengthen collaborations and expand networks.
Together with Early Career Engagement, Soft Skill Training, and keynote talks from invited guests, we experienced an inspiring week of science and team spirit!
For the full program and additional information, please have a look at the conference page .

Congratulations to Frederic Effenberger, Maria Elena Innocenti and Jeremiah Lübke, who were successful in their ISSI team proposal on 'Energetic Particle Transport in Space Plasma Turbulence‘!
The project is highly relevant for our F1 and F2 projects.
Frederic is leading this international team, consisting of 12 members in total, with his long-term collaborator Eugene Engelbrecht (North-West University, South Africa) as co-leader.
The aim of their team project is to bring together experts in various fields, broadly centered on the study of plasma turbulence and comprised of specialists in theory, data analysis, and charged particle transport modeling.
This will take advantage not only of recent advances in our understanding of space plasma turbulence due to careful analyses of in-situ spacecraft observations in the inner heliosphere (such as those performed by Parker Solar Probe and Solar Orbiter), but also of the latest developments in the numerical simulation of turbulence over multiple orders of magnitude in length scales
You can find more information on the ISSI teams here.
